The card is also valid in the surrounding area of Amsterdam, including Haarlem, Enkhuizen, the Zaanse Schans, Volendam/Marken and the Muiderslot. Besides free entry to museums and attractions, the I Amsterdam City Card allows you to travel using GVB (tram, bus and metro) in Amsterdam for free.
The museum element of the I amsterdam City Card is automatically activated on the first attraction or museum visit. The public transport element is automatically activated the first time a tram, bus or metro is used. Once activated, each element remains valid for a certain period, depending on the type of card.
