The Rembrandt House Museum is housed in the former house of the Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn. This famous painter lived and worked in this house for nearly twenty years. The interior is restored to the style of the times in which Rembrandt lived. The museum displays paintings by artists who worked in Amsterdam before Rembrandt settled there in 1631. The collection includes works by Pieter Lastman, Rembrandt’s tutor. The museum has 260 sketches of the approximately 290 sketches Rembrandt made. A selection is included in the permanent exhibition.

Rembrandt House Museum has 5 ratings.
The Rembrandthuis is Rembrandt's house as it was when he lived there. If you're interested in an artist's house, then this is a great museum. It was very interesting to be able to walk in the house where a big painter as Rembrandt lived.

The museum was a little bit disappointing for me. The museum does not have a lot of Rembrandt’s works and the building itsel is a bit of a modern redevelopment. It is ‘ok’ to visit, but I’d recommend the Rijksmuseum more than this place, as that museum features Rembrandt’s most important work.
