Rijksmuseum
The Rijksmuseum is located in a unique historical building from 1885 by architect PJH Cuypers. The museum is dedicated to Dutch art and Dutch history. The collection is exhibited in over two hundred rooms and includes works by Dutch masters such as Rembrandt van Rijn, Johannes Vermeer and Frans Hals. In addition to paintings from the Middle Ages to the 18th century and the 19th century, the museum also exhibits sculptures, applied art and modern art. The most famous work in the collection is The Night Watch by Rembrandt van Rijn.

A must-see if you’re in Amsterdam. Although there can be a big queue, it moves rather quickly. It is a lovely museum with a very large collection of interesting objects and paintings. I guess one of the best collections in the world!

Een belevenis. Het museum telt zo veel objecten dat je er wel even zoet bent. Enige nadeel is dat het er erg druk is en daardoor de wachttijden bij de toilet, de garderobe en het restaurant erg lang zijn.

The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is very impressive. It’s very huge so you’re going to need some time to view it properly. If you’re not interested in art, history or art history, don’t bother going. If those topics do interest you, you should definitely visit the Rijks!

Het Rijksmuseum te Amsterdam is het mooiste museum van Nederland. Daar is geen twijfel over mogelijk. Na de verbouwing is het nog fantastischer geworden en hierdoor nog meer een must-see! Een collectie die alleen maar hoogtepunten lijkt te hebben, maar als extra hoogtepunt de eregallerij heeft, met schilderijen van onder andere Rembrandt en Vermeer. Voor iedereen een must-see!
