Anne Frank House
Source

The Anne Frank House is the house where the Jewish girl Anne Frank was hiding with seven others for more than two years in World War II. The museum owns the original diaries and writings of Anne Frank. An important part of the museum is the ‘Achterhuis’, the place where Anne Frank hid and wrote her famous diary. Documents and objects of the eight people who were hiding are exhibited. In the ‘voorhuis’ parts of her diary, photographs, films and historical documents illustrate the story of Anne Frank.

The Anne Frank House in Amsterdam is a deeply moving and important historical site that offers visitors a somber look into the life of Anne Frank and her family during World War II. Located in the canal district, this museum preserves the hiding place where Anne Frank wrote her famous diary.

Visitors consistently note the powerful emotional impact of walking through the secret annex where the Frank family and others hid from Nazi persecution. The museum does an excellent job of presenting Anne's story through personal artifacts, photographs, and excerpts from her diary. The narrow staircases and small rooms give a visceral sense of the cramped conditions the occupants endured.

While the experience is undoubtedly poignant, some visitors mention that the crowds can be overwhelming, especially during peak seasons. It's highly recommended to book tickets in advance to avoid long queues. The museum can feel crowded at times, which may detract from the reflective atmosphere.

The exhibits are well-curated and informative, providing context about the Holocaust and the Frank family's experiences. However, some visitors note that the tour can feel rushed due to the flow of people, and there's limited time to linger and absorb the information.

Overall, the Anne Frank House offers a crucial educational experience that brings history to life in a profound way. It serves as a stark reminder of the horrors of war and persecution, while also highlighting the power of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. Despite some logistical challenges, it remains a must-see for those seeking to understand this dark chapter of history.

I am terribly disappointed by this place. I came to Europe for my first out of the United States trip, and one thing I wanted over anything else is see the Ann frank house. Unfortunately even after placing tickets several weeks in advance qe just received an e-mail saying that they will have to cancel MY TICKET because, you guest it, SINCE APPARENTLY "13 YEAR OLD CHILDREN TOUCH TO MUCH STUFF." I am incredibly disappointed thince this was such a staple for my europe trip and I can't go. Don't you think that it would be better just to tell me not to touch stuff. And above all why in the world south things. Like do they think I am a 3 year old kid that just wants to Lick everything. Additionally, since I am missing school for my europe trip my social studies teacher wanted me to do an assignment on the Ann frank house since I WAS gonna see it. Now what am I suppose to Do. In conclusion PLEASE do not tell a kid probably under 15 since they are so sure teens touch stuff that they will be able to go because they will probably end up canceling your ticket.

Anne Frank was a real star, but her museum is almost the opposite. The queues are gigantic and once you’re inside, you can almost never stop to read the information, as people expect you to walk on…very stressful actually. If you really want to see it, go see it, but if you’re claustrophobic and prone to stress: don’t go.

An incredible experience! I would recommend you to read the diary of Anne Frank before going to visit the Anne Frank House to make the experience even better. I did so as well and was in tears at the end of the museum tour. I would certainly recommend visiting the Anne Frank House to anyone and everyone, but be emotionally prepared!
