Paulínia is a municipality located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, approximately 118 kilometers from the state capital. The city, founded in 1964, has developed from a small agricultural community into a significant industrial center, largely due to the establishment of the Replan oil refinery, one of the largest in Brazil.

Despite its industrial character, Paulínia has invested in cultural development, with notable facilities including the Zeca Malavazzi Cultural Complex and the Paulo Gracindo Municipal Theater. The city is also known for hosting the Paulínia Film Festival, which has become an important event in the Brazilian film industry, attracting filmmakers and artists from across the country.
