Mineola is a historic city located in Wood County, Texas. Founded in 1873, the city was named after the daughter of a prominent railroad official and grew as a significant railway hub where the Missouri Pacific and Texas and Pacific railroads intersected. The city retains much of its railway heritage, with the Mineola Historical Museum housed in a former post office building showcasing local history and railroad memorabilia.
