The Sorolla Museum in Madrid holds and exhibits work by the artist Joaquín Sorolla, as well as members of his family such as his daughter Elena. Sorolla excelled in the painting of portraits, landscapes and monumental works of social and historical themes. The museum is housed in what was originally hSorolla's house. Some rooms are still furnished as they were during Sorolla's life, including his studio. The upstairs rooms are a gallery for temporary exhibitions.

Museo Sorolla is a lovely museum with the former house, the art studio and the garden of the 19th to early 20th century Spanish painter Sorolla. The museum contains not only a wide range of the artist's paintings but also some of the original furniture. Even if you are not that familiar with the artist, the light in many of his paintings will amaze you. Definitely recommended if you are in Madrid!
