The Royal Collections Gallery, which was originally known as the Royal Collections Museum, is an art museum situated in Madrid. It is managed by the Spanish state agency Patrimonio Nacional and is located in a new building above the gardens of the Campo del Moro park, adjacent to the Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace.
The Royal Collections Gallery is designed for the public display and preservation of a variety of artworks and historical pieces from the Spanish royal collection. This includes paintings, sculptures, tapestries, luxury objects, and carriages. The Spanish royal collection is also the main source of artworks for the Museo del Prado and several other museums in Spain.
In June 2022, the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, and the chairwoman of Patrimonio Nacional, Ana de la Cueva, announced that the museum would open in the summer of 2023 and would be renamed the Royal Collections Gallery. The museum officially opened its doors on 28 June 2023.
