Yatasto is a historic site located in Argentina. The Post of Yatasto (Posta de Yatasto) was a significant relay station during colonial times, situated in the Salta Province along the historic Royal Road that connected Buenos Aires with Upper Peru (modern-day Bolivia).
The site gained particular historical importance during Argentina's independence movement, as it was here where, in 1814, General José de San Martín transferred the command of the Army of the North to General Manuel Belgrano. Today, while the original building has been restored, the site serves as a testament to Argentina's struggle for independence and the country's colonial postal system.
