La posta de Yatasto is an old post of the royal road located near San José de Metán, in the province of Salta, Argentina. This historical site offers a glimpse into the past, as it was a resting place for travelers between Buenos Aires and Alto Perú during the colonial era.

National Historic Monument

La posta de Yatasto was declared a National Historic Monument of Argentina on July 14, 1941, by decree Nº 95687. This recognition underscores the site's importance in the country's history and its preservation for future generations.

Museum

In 1950, the old owners donated La posta de Yatasto to the Argentine State, and since then it has functioned as a museum. Visitors can explore the historical site and learn about its significance in the Argentine War of Independence.
