Wiuwert (also known as Wieuwerd in Dutch) is a small village in the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân in the province of Friesland, Netherlands. The village is known for its historic church, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Of particular interest is the church crypt, which became famous in the 17th century for housing naturally mummified bodies, a rare phenomenon that attracted scientific attention.
The village was also historically connected to the Labadists, a Protestant religious community that settled here in the late 17th century. Today, Wiuwert maintains its rural character as a typical Frisian village, surrounded by the characteristic open landscapes of the region.
