Tervuren is a municipality located in the Flemish region of Belgium, in the province of Flemish Brabant, just east of Brussels. The town is particularly known for its most prominent cultural institution, the Royal Museum for Central Africa (now called AfricaMuseum). This museum, established in 1898 by King Leopold II, is housed in a neoclassical palace set within the extensive Tervuren Park.

The town's history dates back to medieval times, and it was once a popular residence for the Dukes of Brabant. Today, Tervuren combines its rich historical heritage with modern suburban life, featuring beautiful parks, including the Tervuren Arboretum, and historic architecture. The area is also known for its green spaces and connection to the Sonian Forest, one of the largest beech forests in Belgium.
