The Clockarium in Schaerbeek, Belgium, is a specialized museum dedicated to Art Deco ceramic clocks. Visitors often appreciate the extensive collection of over 1,000 clocks from the 1920s and 1930s, showcasing the craftsmanship and design of this particular era. The museum is housed in a beautiful Art Deco villa, which adds to the overall experience and ambiance. Many reviewers note the knowledgeable and passionate staff who provide informative tours, enhancing the understanding of the collection. The museum's compact size allows for an intimate viewing experience, typically taking about an hour to explore thoroughly. Some visitors mention that while the focus is quite niche, the presentation and variety of clocks make it an interesting visit even for those not particularly interested in timepieces. On the downside, a few reviewers point out that the museum might feel repetitive for some, given its specific focus. Additionally, the location is slightly off the beaten path, which some find charming while others see as a minor inconvenience. Overall, the Clockarium offers a unique look into a specific aspect of Art Deco design and horology, appealing to those with an interest in decorative arts, design history, or unusual collections.
