Dubois is a small town located in Fremont County, Wyoming, nestled in the Wind River Valley. The town sits at an elevation of approximately 6,946 feet (2,117 meters) and is surrounded by the Wind River and Absaroka mountain ranges.
Originally a logging and tie-hacking community, Dubois has preserved much of its Western heritage and Native American history. The area has strong ties to the Wind River Indian Reservation and maintains significant archaeological sites, including ancient petroglyphs.
