Claverton is a small village and civil parish located in the county of Somerset, England, situated approximately 2.5 miles southeast of Bath. The village is nestled in the picturesque Avon Valley and is notably home to the American Museum in Britain (now known as the American Museum & Gardens), which opened in 1961.

The museum is housed in the historic Claverton Manor, a Grade I listed building dating from the 1820s. The village also features the 12th-century St Mary's Church and is close to the Kennet and Avon Canal, where the historic Claverton Pumping Station can be found.

The area's cultural significance is enhanced by its proximity to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bath and its preservation of both British and American cultural heritage through its museum collections.
