Ballwin is a suburban city located in west St. Louis County, Missouri. Established in 1837 by John Ball, who originally purchased the land for a mere 75 cents per acre, the city has grown into a thriving residential community. Named after Ball and the fact that he was sure he would "win" with his investment, Ballwin was officially incorporated as a city in 1950.
Today, this middle-ring suburb is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, well-maintained parks, and community facilities. The city maintains several public spaces that support local cultural activities and recreational programs, including the Ballwin Golf Course and the North Pointe Aquatic Center. While primarily residential in nature, Ballwin has developed a modest but active cultural scene, with community events and programs often hosted at The Pointe at Ballwin Commons, the city's recreation center.
