Angermünde is a historic town located in the Uckermark district of Brandenburg, Germany. Founded in the 13th century, the town has preserved much of its medieval character, including parts of its original city walls and gates. The town's name derives from its location near the Münde (mouth) of the River Anger.

Situated in a picturesque landscape of lakes and forests, Angermünde is surrounded by the UNESCO-certified Biosphere Reserve Schorfheide-Chorin. The town center features well-preserved Gothic brick architecture, typical of northern German medieval towns, with the St. Mary's Church being a prominent landmark.

Throughout its history, Angermünde has been an important regional center for trade and agriculture, and today it maintains its role as a cultural hub in the region, hosting various cultural events and maintaining several historical collections that document the area's rich heritage.
