Ambridge is a historic borough located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, situated along the Ohio River approximately 16 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The town was named after the American Bridge Company, which established a large manufacturing facility there in the early 20th century.

Originally part of the larger Economy settlement founded by the Harmony Society, a German religious group, in 1824, Ambridge has a rich industrial heritage. The town grew significantly during the steel industry boom and was known for its bridge-building, steel fabrication, and industrial manufacturing.

Today, Ambridge is home to the Old Economy Village, a National Historic Landmark that preserves the history of the Harmony Society and provides insights into 19th-century communal living and craftsmanship. The borough maintains its historical character while adapting to contemporary times.
