The Viking Fortress Trelleborg, also known as the Museum at Trelleborg, is a cultural history museum situated at the circular fortress Trelleborg near Slagelse. This museum showcases archaeological finds from and around Trelleborg, providing visitors with a glimpse into the Viking era.

Annual Viking Festival

Each year in the 29th week, typically in July, the museum organizes a Viking festival around the fortress. The festival features a market with numerous stalls and a reenacted battle, drawing up to 10,000 visitors and around 600 actors. This event offers a unique opportunity for visitors to experience the Viking era in a lively and engaging way.

The Longhouse Reconstruction

The National Museum has been the owner of the fortress and the surrounding 8.2 hectares since the 1930s. In 1941, a longhouse was reconstructed based on the archaeological excavations in the area. The original reconstructed longhouse has since decayed, and a new one has been built in its place, offering visitors a chance to see a replica of a Viking longhouse.
