The Flakkebjerg School Museum, established in 1981, is housed in the former Flakkebjerg Forskole, which closed its doors in 1962. The museum offers a unique glimpse into the history of education in the region.
Flakkebjerg was once a stop on the Slagelse-Næstved railway line, with a branch line known as Skælskørbanen operating from 1892 to 1971. The station was located 2 km north of the church village. Today, the station building is preserved and can be found at Flakkebjerg Stationsvej 3.
Just 1½ km north of Flakkebjerg, you'll find Aarhus University's experimental farm, AU Flakkebjerg. This facility is a hub for application-oriented plant research. The farm employs 150 people, half of whom are researchers. The experimental farm spans 16,000 m² of buildings and a field trial area of 175 hectares.
