Rudersdal Museer, located in Rudersdal Municipality, is a state-recognized local history museum. It is composed of three departments: Mothsgården, which was formerly known as Søllerød Museum, the Historical Archive, and the Vedbæk Finds at Gammel Holtegaard. Each of these departments offers a unique insight into the local history and culture of the area.
Mothsgården, situated at Søllerødvej 25, is a significant part of Rudersdal Museer. It was constructed around 1680 by Interior Minister Matthias Moth in the original Søllerød. Over the years, this farm has been visited by several major cultural personalities, adding to its historical significance.
The Vedbæk Finds at Gammel Holtegaard is another fascinating part of Rudersdal Museer. It covers an archaeological excavation of graves from the hunter stone age, which were discovered in 1975 near Vedbæk Maglemose and the Øresund coast. An exhibition has been established based on these finds, providing visitors with an impression of what the area looked like during the stone age, including both the natural environment and a stone age settlement.
