Real Alcázar and its collection

Real Alcázar
Source

Real Alcázar is one of the best examples of Mudéjar architecture and is the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe. The gargantuan palace complex was originally a Moorish fort and is surrounded by vast gardens. You enter the palace into the Lion's Patio through Puerta del León. The following patio (Patio de la Montería) is named after the hunters who gathered here and it is bordered by the Mudéjar style facade of the Palacio Pedro I. The main patio, Patio de las Doncellas, served as the central meeting place. The royal gardens consist of several parts of different styles, with a number of statues, fountains, and ponds.

The Real Alcázar in Seville, Spain, is a stunning royal palace that offers visitors a rich blend of architectural styles and historical significance. The palace's intricate Moorish designs, beautiful gardens, and well-preserved rooms consistently impress visitors. Many appreciate the detailed tilework, ornate ceilings, and the peaceful courtyards. The upper royal apartments, which require an additional ticket, are often highlighted as worth the extra cost. Some visitors note that the audio guide provides valuable context to the palace's history. On the downside, long queues and crowded spaces during peak seasons can detract from the experience. Some reviewers mention that certain areas may have limited accessibility for those with mobility issues. Overall, the Real Alcázar is widely regarded as an essential stop for those visiting Seville, offering a glimpse into the city's rich cultural heritage and architectural beauty.
