The National Playing Card Museum is dedicated to the history of the playing card. Since the early 19th century cards are made in Turnhout and in the 20th century the city became the sole manufacturer of playing cards in the Low Countries. Besides the history, it also shows the production of playing cards over time. There are old machines that illustrate the entire manufacturing process. Among others there is a unique steam engine, that still operates.

The Nationaal Museum van de Speelkaart (National Playing Card Museum) in Turnhout, Belgium, offers visitors an interesting look into the history and production of playing cards. The museum is housed in an old factory building, which adds to its authentic atmosphere. Exhibits showcase the evolution of playing cards, printing techniques, and the cultural significance of card games.
Visitors generally appreciate the museum's extensive collection, which includes antique playing cards, printing presses, and interactive displays. The museum does a good job of explaining the card-making process and its historical context. Many find the hands-on activities and demonstrations engaging, especially for those interested in printing techniques or card games.
However, some visitors note that the museum is relatively small and might not appeal to those without a specific interest in playing cards or printing history. A few reviews mention that some exhibits could benefit from more English translations, as much of the information is in Dutch.
