The Museumseisenbahn Küstenbahn Ostfriesland e. V. (MKO) is a society based in Norden, Germany. Its primary objective is to preserve and maintain the operational status of the historic coastal railway stretch between the former district town of Norden and the municipality of Dornum. This railway line once formed part of the continuous connection between Emden and Jever along the East Frisian North Sea coast.
As of 2019, the society's vehicle collection comprises around 30 standard gauge vehicles. This includes three operational diesel locomotives, three freight cars, three passenger cars, and several construction vehicles. These locomotives are stored in a listed locomotive shed in Norden, providing an interesting insight into the history and operation of the railway.
The train set that is regularly used on the coastal railway typically consists of a V 60 locomotive, the G 10 freight car, the covered freight car of the exchange type Glr "Dresden 80001", and the two thunderboxes MKO 22 and 23. Additionally, the thunderbox 21 has been converted into a train bistro, offering a unique dining experience for passengers.
