This unique octagonal house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 3, 1971, marking its significance in the architectural and cultural history of the region.
The Loren Andrus Octagon House is a two-story, eight-sided structure made of brick. A large porch, supported by Neo-Corinthian wood columns, wraps around seven of the eight sides of the house. The eighth side extends to a single-story brick kitchen wing with a low gable roof. The house is also characterized by two-sash double-hung windows with shaped wood lintels, adding to its architectural charm.
