The Archaeology Museum in Bruges confronts our time with the prehistoric time, Roman time and the Middle Ages. This approach helps to explain the function and the use of archaeological objects. The archaeological past comes to life in houses on the edge of the domain of the St. John's Hospital. Among other things, the museum displays pottery, glass, metal, leather, wood, stone and wall paintings. There is also a room where non-Bruges finds from the prehistoric, Roman and Merovingian time are displayed.
