Wolfratshausen is a historic town located in the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, approximately 30 kilometers south of Munich. Situated at the confluence of the Loisach and Isar rivers, the town dates back to the 11th century and features a well-preserved old town (Altstadt) with traditional Bavarian architecture.
During World War II, the town was notable for hosting a displaced persons camp. Today, Wolfratshausen combines its historical heritage with modern development, serving as both a residential area and a gateway to the Bavarian Alps. The town maintains several cultural institutions and historic buildings that reflect its rich Bavarian heritage, including the historic Humplbräu brewery building and the baroque St. Andreas Church.
