Westonzoyland is a historic village located in the Somerset Levels, in the county of Somerset, England. The village played a significant role in English history as the site of the last major battle fought on English soil - the Battle of Sedgemoor in 1685, which marked the end of the Monmouth Rebellion.
The village retains much of its rural character and is home to the historic St. Mary's Church, a Grade I listed building dating back to the 15th century. The area surrounding Westonzoyland is characterized by its distinctive lowland landscape, which has been shaped by centuries of water management and agricultural practices. The village also houses a former pumping station, now converted into the Westonzoyland Engine Trust Museum, which tells the story of Somerset's drainage history and industrial heritage.
