Wayne is an unincorporated community and census-designated place located in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, situated along the Main Line, a series of affluent suburbs west of Philadelphia.
The community, which is part of Radnor Township, has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century when the Pennsylvania Railroad established a station in the area. Wayne developed as a planned suburban community and has maintained much of its historic character through its architecture and town planning.
The community features a traditional downtown area along Lancaster Avenue, which includes various historic buildings and cultural establishments. Wayne's proximity to Philadelphia has made it an important suburban cultural center, with several educational institutions and cultural venues in the vicinity.
