Waitsburg is a small city located in Walla Walla County, in the southeastern part of Washington state. Founded in 1865, the city was named after Sylvester M. Wait, who established a mill in the area. This historic town, situated along the Touchet River, retains much of its 19th-century character with well-preserved buildings from its early days.

The community has a rich agricultural heritage, being situated in the fertile Walla Walla Valley known for its wheat farming and, more recently, vineyards. While small in size, Waitsburg maintains a distinct cultural identity, blending its historical roots with contemporary arts and cultural activities.
