Sundborn is a small village located in Dalarna County, Sweden, primarily known for its connection to the famous Swedish artist Carl Larsson and his wife Karin.
The village gained cultural significance when the Larsson couple established their home, now known as Carl Larsson-gården, here in the late 19th century. The house and its surroundings became the subject of many of Carl Larsson's most celebrated paintings, which depicted idealized Swedish home life and have significantly influenced Swedish interior design and cultural aesthetics.
The village maintains its historical character with traditional red-painted wooden buildings typical of the Dalarna region. Sundborn's natural setting, with its proximity to Lake Toftan and the surrounding countryside, continues to attract visitors interested in both art history and Swedish rural culture.
