Solutré-Pouilly is a commune in the Saône-et-Loire department of the Burgundy region in eastern France. The village is primarily known for its distinctive limestone escarpment, the Rock of Solutré, which rises dramatically above the surrounding vineyards.

This prehistoric site has significant archaeological importance, as it was a hunting ground used by prehistoric humans during the Upper Paleolithic period, particularly during what became known as the Solutrean period (roughly 20,000 to 15,000 years ago).

The area is also renowned for its wine production, being part of the Pouilly-Fuissé wine appellation, one of Burgundy's most prestigious white wine producing areas. The combination of its prehistoric heritage and viticulture makes Solutré-Pouilly an important destination for both archaeological and oenological interests.
