Rue is a commune in northern France, located in the Somme department of the Hauts-de-France region. This historic town dates back to medieval times and was an important trading port during the Middle Ages due to its location near the Maye River and the Bay of Somme.
The town retains much of its architectural heritage, including the Chapel of the Holy Spirit (Chapelle du Saint-Esprit), a notable example of Gothic architecture, and the Saint-Wulphy Church. The town's cultural identity has been shaped by its maritime history and its role in the development of the Picardy region. Today, Rue maintains its historical character while serving as a small cultural center in the Hauts-de-France region.
