Philipsburg is a historic mining town located in Granite County, Montana. Founded in the 1860s during the silver mining boom, the town was named after mining engineer Philip Deidesheimer. Today, this well-preserved town with a population of approximately 800 people maintains much of its 19th-century architectural character, with Victorian-era buildings lining its main street. The town's mining heritage is still evident in its historic downtown district, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
While mining activities have largely ceased, Philipsburg has transformed into a destination known for its sapphire mining experiences, local breweries, and candy shops.
