Moapa Valley is a rural area located in Clark County, Nevada, approximately 60 miles northeast of Las Vegas. The valley encompasses several communities, including Overton and Logandale, and is situated along the Muddy River.
The area has a rich Native American history, particularly associated with the ancient Pueblo peoples who inhabited the region. Archaeological evidence of these early inhabitants can be found at the Lost City Museum in Overton, which preserves and displays artifacts from the Ancestral Puebloan culture. The valley's history is also linked to Mormon settlers who established communities in the late 19th century.
Today, the area is known for its agricultural activities, scenic desert landscape, and proximity to Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
