Liberty Corner is a historic unincorporated community located within Bernards Township in Somerset County, New Jersey. This charming village, with roots dating back to colonial times, retains much of its historic character through its well-preserved 18th and 19th-century architecture.
The community was originally named Annandale but was later renamed to Liberty Corner, reportedly in reference to a local gathering place for Revolutionary War soldiers. The area is characterized by its rural atmosphere despite its proximity to major New Jersey urban centers. While primarily residential today, Liberty Corner maintains its connection to the past through its historic buildings and local landmarks, including the Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church, which has been serving the community since the 18th century.
