Hoeilaart is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant, situated in the Flemish region known as the Druivenstreek (Grape Region). The town has a rich historical connection to greenhouse grape cultivation, which flourished here from the late 19th century until the mid-20th century. During this period, Hoeilaart was famous for producing table grapes in its numerous greenhouses, earning it the nickname "Glass Village."

Today, while most of the traditional greenhouses have disappeared, the town maintains its cultural heritage through the annual Grape Festival and the Druivenmuseum (Grape Museum). Hoeilaart is also known for its proximity to the Sonian Forest, a vast beech forest that is recognized as UNESCO World Heritage, offering residents and visitors alike a connection to nature and outdoor recreational activities.
