Günzburg is a historic town located in Bavaria, Germany, situated at the confluence of the Günz and Danube rivers. Founded as a Roman settlement named Guntia, the town has preserved much of its medieval character, particularly in its well-maintained old town center.
The cityscape is characterized by its notable baroque architecture, including the Church of Our Lady and the Frauenkirche. In recent years, Günzburg has gained additional recognition as the home of LEGOLAND Deutschland, which opened in 2002. The town serves as an important cultural and economic center in the Swabian part of Bavaria, combining its rich historical heritage with modern attractions. The local Markgraf-Georg-Friedrich-Realschule houses a museum featuring regional history and archaeological findings from the Roman period.
