Frigiliana is a picturesque white village (pueblo blanco) located in the province of Málaga, Andalusia. Situated in the foothills of the Sierra Almijara mountains, approximately 6 kilometers north of Nerja, this historic town preserves its Moorish architectural heritage through its narrow, winding streets and traditional whitewashed houses.
The old town, known as the Barrio Morisco, features distinctive cobblestone streets decorated with ceramic mosaics that tell the story of the village's past. The town's cultural heritage is reflected in its well-preserved medieval architecture, local crafts, and traditional festivals.
Frigiliana maintains a strong artistic presence, hosting various cultural events throughout the year and being home to several artisan workshops where traditional crafts are still practiced. The village is also known for its production of honey and 'miel de caña' (molasses), with one of the last remaining traditional molasses factories in Europe still operating in the town.
