Friedrichsdorf is a town located in the Hochtaunuskreis district of Hesse, Germany, situated approximately 20 kilometers north of Frankfurt am Main.
The town was founded in 1687 by Huguenot refugees who were granted asylum by Landgrave Friedrich II of Hesse-Homburg, from whom the town gets its name. This historical background has left its mark on the town's cultural heritage, with some French influences still visible in its architecture and local traditions. Friedrichsdorf is particularly known for being the birthplace of the first German brand of spices and food products, Tee-Maass, which was established in 1811.
Today, the town combines its historical heritage with modern development, serving as both a residential area and a business location within the Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan region.
