Fidenza is a historic town located in the province of Parma, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. Originally known as Borgo San Donnino until 1927, the city has ancient Roman origins and was an important stop along the Via Francigena, the medieval pilgrimage route connecting Canterbury to Rome.
The town is particularly known for its remarkable Romanesque cathedral, the Duomo di Fidenza, which dates back to the 12th century and features significant sculptural decorations by Benedetto Antelami. The historic center preserves its medieval character with narrow streets and historic buildings, while the surrounding area is known for its agricultural traditions and food production.
Today, Fidenza combines its rich cultural heritage with modern development, including its role as a commercial center with the Fidenza Village outlet complex.
