Fairfield is a small town located in Utah County, Utah, United States. The town has historical significance as it was established in 1855 and was originally known as Camp Floyd, named after Secretary of War John B. Floyd.
The area was home to the largest military installation in the United States between 1858 and 1861, with Camp Floyd housing over 3,000 troops. Today, Fairfield maintains its historical character through the Camp Floyd State Park Museum and Stagecoach Inn, which preserves and displays artifacts from the town's military past and early Mormon pioneer settlement period. The town offers visitors a glimpse into 19th-century frontier life and military history in the American West.
