Cloquet is a city located in Carlton County, Minnesota, situated along the St. Louis River. The city has a rich history tied to the lumber industry and is notable for being largely rebuilt after the devastating 1918 Cloquet Fire, one of the worst natural disasters in Minnesota history.

The reconstruction led to several architecturally significant buildings, including the R.W. Lindholm Service Station, designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1958 and still operating today. It is the only gas station ever designed by Wright.

The city's cultural heritage is deeply influenced by its Native American history, particularly the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, and its Nordic immigrant settlers. Today, Cloquet maintains its industrial heritage while serving as a regional center for commerce and culture in northeastern Minnesota.
