Cashmere is a charming small city located in Chelan County, Washington, nestled in the eastern foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Situated along the Wenatchee River, the city was originally known as Mission before being renamed to Cashmere in 1904. The area has a rich agricultural heritage, particularly known for its apple and pear orchards, as well as being home to the famous Aplets & Cotlets candy factory.

The town's historic downtown area reflects its early 20th-century development and preserves much of its original character. The surrounding landscape of rolling hills and valleys has influenced the local culture and development of the community. The area's history is closely tied to Native American heritage, pioneer settlement, and the arrival of the Great Northern Railway, which contributed to its growth as an agricultural center.
