Beerwah is a rural town situated in the Sunshine Coast Region of Queensland, Australia. The town is notably positioned at the foot of Mount Beerwah, the highest of the distinctive Glass House Mountains that dominate the local landscape. These ancient volcanic peaks are of great cultural significance to the Aboriginal people and have been a defining feature of the region for thousands of years.
The area gained additional recognition as the home of the Australia Zoo, founded by the late Steve Irwin and his family, which has become an important center for wildlife conservation and education. The town combines its rich indigenous heritage with modern agricultural activities, primarily pineapple farming, and serves as a gateway to both natural attractions and cultural experiences in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
