Batsto Village is a historic industrial site located in the Pinelands of southern New Jersey. Established in 1766, it was a prominent ironmaking community during the colonial era and throughout the American Revolution. The village was built around the Batsto Iron Works, which produced iron from bog ore found in the surrounding wetlands.

During its peak, the self-sufficient community included a sawmill, gristmill, general store, workers' homes, and the elaborate Batsto Mansion. After the decline of the iron industry, the village transitioned to glassmaking in the 19th century.

Today, Batsto Village is preserved as a New Jersey Historic Site within Wharton State Forest, offering visitors a well-maintained glimpse into 18th and 19th-century industrial and rural life in America. The site features numerous restored buildings and structures that showcase the cultural and industrial heritage of New Jersey's Pine Barrens region.
