Bad Arolsen is a historic spa town located in the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg in Hesse, Germany. The town is notable for its baroque residence castle, which served as the seat of the Princes of Waldeck and Pyrmont until 1918. The castle, completed in the early 18th century, remains one of the most important baroque buildings in northern Hesse.

Today, Bad Arolsen is known for housing the Arolsen Archives (formerly the International Tracing Service), an international center holding one of the largest collections of documents about victims of Nazi persecution and the Holocaust. The town maintains its historical character while offering cultural activities and health tourism facilities, characteristic of German spa towns. The prefix "Bad" in its name, awarded in 1997, designates its status as a state-recognized health resort.
