Astigarraga is a municipality located in the Basque Country of northern Spain, situated in the province of Gipuzkoa. The town is particularly known for its strong connection to Basque cider house tradition, or 'sagardotegi' culture.

Located in the Urumea river valley, about 7 kilometers from San Sebastián, Astigarraga has historically been a center for apple cultivation and cider production. The town maintains its cultural heritage while adapting to modern times, featuring traditional Basque architecture and customs. The cider houses, which are especially active during the cider season from January to April, represent an important part of both the local economy and cultural identity.

Besides its gastronomic significance, Astigarraga preserves elements of traditional Basque rural life and architecture, with several notable historic buildings and farmhouses in the area.
