Apatzingán is a city located in the state of Michoacán, Mexico. The city holds historical significance as it was here where the first Mexican Constitution, known as the Constitution of Apatzingán, was signed in 1814 during the Mexican War of Independence. This document, although never implemented, represented one of the first attempts to establish a sovereign Mexican nation.

Today, Apatzingán is an important agricultural center in the fertile Tierra Caliente region, known for its lime production and other tropical fruits. The city maintains its cultural heritage through various historical sites, including the House of Culture, which hosts exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.
