Ankershagen is a municipality located in the Mecklenburgische Seenplatte district of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. The village is particularly notable for its connection to Heinrich Schliemann, the famous archaeologist who discovered Troy. Schliemann spent part of his childhood here from 1823 to 1831, and it was in Ankershagen where he first developed his passion for archaeology and ancient history.

Today, the Heinrich-Schliemann-Museum is housed in the former parsonage where young Heinrich lived with his father. The museum documents Schliemann's life, his archaeological discoveries, and his connection to the village. The surrounding area is characterized by the typical Mecklenburg landscape, with its rolling hills, lakes, and agricultural lands.
